Volumatix

1981 - 1984

alternative rock new wave

Volumatix were a Houston new wave rock band featuring Joe Holmesly, Lee Martin, Kerry Brown, Marc Lutz, and Toby Davis, managed by Ray Cook.

Formed in the early 1980s, they emerged from the Island, Houston's first major new wave club, and became one of the city's most ambitious original music acts. They released an EP called Volume One, recorded at Sugar Hill and MRS studios, which received local airplay on KTRU and even caught the attention of California's KROQ. The band ultimately split due to artistic differences between songwriters Holmesly and Martin..
