Hum were a space rock and alternative rock band from Champaign, Illinois, formed in 1989. Their 1995 single "Stars" was a surprise hit. Known for their heavy, layered guitars and dreamy melodies, their album You'd Prefer an Astronaut (1995) is a cult classic.
